May, 2006

I spent the first two and a half weeks of May rocking it down south with the one and only Krystle Warren.

We had a great gig in Greenville (Main Street) and a tough gig in Greenville (Chicora Alley) on our first night. My dad drove us to Savannah GA and we spent the afternoon chilling with my cousins on their river dock.

We had a pretty sweet gig at Jazz’d in Savannah and from there on out it was pretty smooth sailing. Greenville was great again on Monday at the Handle Bar, Zambra’s in Asheville is always a favorite stop, the North Charleston Performing Arts festival was a great gig and we reached our peak with a show at Redux Art Studios in Charleston.
We spent a couple of days hanging on Isle of Palms with Supi, Brica, and Gail. Who was nice enough to share her great place. We had a great time hanging with Kevin, Quentin, Ron, Mandy, Phil, Elizabeth, and the Copasetic Fetish band.
We played in Columbia and then spent a couple of days at my moms house on Lake Lure. It was peaceful and relaxing.
Krystle caught a plane back to NYC and I stayed behind to spend time with my parents and pick up a couple of solo gigs. I played at my friend Ricky Mullohand’s place in Columbia, went out for beers with Les and Brian, then went to Charleston for a private party.
It was a nice mix of work and rest. I saw my Meme on Friday May 19th and played some songs for her. She really enjoyed it and it was great to see her.
Now I’m back in the city with some time to focus on writing and upcoming quartet gigs. Look for us at Detour, La Lanturna, and 55bar!!!
